Fulda Public School Building Project Update

With the school year starting for FHS on Tuesday, September 8th, attention this past week focused on making the Band, Choir and Agriculture rooms, along with the north hallway, ready for students and staff. The installation and the insulating of HVAC components and the installation of lights will make way for the ceiling tile being installed. In the entry area of the Band and Choir rooms wider doors are being installed to meet ADA compliance.

Additional work that took place this past week included the construction of walls and installing of door frames that will lead to the new North - South corridors off of the current north hallway. Masonary work continued this past week with the infilling of openings.

This past week roofing was completed on the existing building. A portion of the west parking lots asphalt will be removed to allow for the installation of roof drainage pipe later this fall. The most visible event that took place this past week was the removal of the west entryway.

Fulda Public School Building Project Update

This past week work continued both on the inside of the existing building, and outdoors on the new additions. Waterproofing and insulating the north and south foundations was completed and backfilling took place. Roofing continued on the existing high school building.

Inside, the removal of previously cut exterior walls continued and the infilling of both exterior and interior wall openings with cement block and glazed block continued. HVAC supply lines and duct installation continued in the Band, Choir and Ag rooms in order to have them ready for the start of school, along with the new Library and Science room. The installation of suspended ceiling grid occured in the Band, Choir and Ag rooms. Wall framing began for the Library and a temporary wall has been constructed in the south/Senior hallway to prepare for the start of the school year.

This past week work continued on both the inside of the existing building, and outdoors on the new additions. The pouring of concrete for footings and foundations on the north and south additions was completed on Friday. Up next will be work on the footings for the auxiliary gym/storm shelter.

Backfilling next to the existing building allowed for the installation of wall shoring, and the removal of previously cut exterior walls. The pictures show corridor access to the future high school and to the new wood shop.

HVAC room units and duct installation continued in the Band, Choir and Ag rooms along with the roughing in of the fire sprinkler system. As required by code, we will be installing a fire sprinkler system and we need to establish a fire wall that separates our existing building from our new additions. A fire resistant material was applied to the fire wall above the ceiling line, and the installation of fire rated door frames and doors, located on this fire wall, is on the agenda.

Roofing started up again this week with plans to have the existing building roof completed by the end of next week.

Fulda Public School Building Project Update

This past week progress was made both inside the existing building and outdoors on the new additions. Concrete was cut and removed in the floors to allow for waste line installation. The photo shown will be the new HS Science Lab. The wall openings that are no longer needed began to be filled in with cement block along with block being laid around one of the new north-south HS addition corridor openings. HVAC classroom units and ductwork installation continues. Footing and foundation concrete work continues and has now moved to the west and south sides of the building.

Fulda MSHSL Sports Eligibility Meeting will be on Monday, August 10th at 6:30 in the Elementary gym.
