Over the past twenty-two months the Fulda School Board and Administration have been exploring the options to best address the deferred maintenance needs of our buildings.  As a result of last fall’s Community Survey the School Board has forwarded a building and renovation plan onto the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) for Review and Comment.  The proposal would result a one building PreK-12 school campus.  If the plan receives approval from MDE there will be a special election on May 13, 2025 to vote on the proposal.  Over the next three and a half months we will be providing specific information and public meetings to answer any and all questions that you may have.

Recently there has been a little confusion regarding the financial condition of Fulda Public Schools.  We are in the position financially where we are not planning on making any cuts for the 2025-26 school year, that includes the number of days of school per week, staffing or programming.  From July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024 our General Unassigned Fund Balance has increased by $ 1,520,776.00.  We began the current school year, FY25, with an overall fund balance of $ 2,930,054.00, of that amount $ 1,871,488.00 were General Unassigned Funds.   Each year over that same period of time we have had substantially more revenues than expenses, last year FY24, our revenues were $ 735,820 more than our expenses.

The ongoing support for our students, staff, and public schools by the residents of the Fulda School District is greatly appreciated.
