American Education Week - 2022

Every day during the school year, the Teachers and Support Staff of Fulda Public Schools have the privilege of working with just under 400 outstanding students who attend our schools.  American Education Week gives all of us the opportunity to celebrate public education and honor the individuals working to ensure that every student receives a quality education in a safe and welcoming setting.  

I am proud to be a member of the Fulda School community and I would like to publically thank our teachers and professionals working throughout the school district for all of the work that they do, as well as express my appreciation to the parents and guardians who support and encourage success in our classrooms.  I have been a member of the Fulda community for thirty plus years and over the years I have seen changes occur within our community and school, but there has been consistency in the genuine concern towards the wellbeing of our children and support from our families towards Fulda Public Schools.  This year we have implemented Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in our buildings that will build upon this and reinforce our goal of developing a sense of community within our buildings.  PBIS is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students' behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. PBIS has been shown to improve social-emotional competence, academic success, and school climate.

As Superintendent and FHS Principal, I want to assure the Fulda community that we will always do our best to provide a welcoming and safe environment that addresses not only the needs of the community, but also challenges our students to reach their potential.  As a district leader, my goal is to foster an environment where our students start strong and leave prepared.  I believe that our schools should emphasize high academic and social expectations for all learners and I believe that our Fulda schools have and will continue to do just that.
